Letztes Wochenende sind Simone und Rachel am 32. Meeting Internacional Do Porto WOS gestartet. Für den Wettkampf aufgeboten wurden alle Schwimmer der Region Zentral Schweiz West welche an den Schweizermeisterschaften eine Top 9 Rangierung erreicht hatten. Am Wettkampf nahmen Athleten aus mehreren Ländern teil, unter anderem war auch einen Teil der portugiesischen Nationalmannschaft anwesend.
Simone erreichte in allen Rennen, die sie geschwommen ist, den Final der besten 8 und wurde 2. auf 100m Delfin, 3. auf 50m Delfin , 4. auf 200m Delfin und schliesslich noch 8. auf 100m Crawl. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war für sie die Teilnahme am Super Sprint Final über 50m Delfin. In dieser Finalversion werden die 50m 4mal direkt hintereinander geschwommen, wobei jedes Mal die 2 langsamsten ausscheiden. Die super Stimmung und die extreme Belastung waren für sie eine super Erfahrung!
Auch Rachel kann auf ein gut gelungenes Wochenende zurückblicken. Obwohl sie eher auf längere Strecken trainiert, hat sie sich wieder an kürzere Strecken wie die 200m und 400m Crawl gewagt. Über 800m Crawl erreichte sie den 4. Platz und konnte mit einer Zeit von 9:16.5 endlich ihre langjährige Bestzeit unterbieten. Auf 200m Crawl wurde sie 8. und auf 400m Crawl erreichte sie den 9. Schlussrang.
Der Wettkampf war für Simone und Rachel eine gute Standortbestimmung für die kommenden Wettkämpfe! Simone wird schon bald an den Sommer Schweizermeisterschaften teilnehmen und Rachel wird am gleichen Wochenende ihren ersten Open Water Wettkampf bestreiten!
